Primary Research
My primary research was to visit the Dunstable library and to go and have a look at children's books ,on how they attract children. The main reason was of the text, mainly being Helvetica or Times New Roman which is a simple text, when being default fonts they can be easier to read so the children can read it more clearly.
Colour is also another reason to draw young people into books. When larger white spaces are included in the book it produces more bleed on the page or the front cover of the book. This would have to be included in most books whereas the audience ,children, want to see a proportion of the picture instead of a heap of text. The author has to be very smart when he using the words for the age criteria, they have to be basic and direct. If the words are too complex then the reader such as children 3-6 will not have a clue what the author has written.
