Inspiration 2

Rik Oostenbroek

Rik Oostenbroek inspired me in High School with his imagination in abstract and how he forms his traditional art,Photography and Typography with shapes and also creating new styles of wacky images.Oostenbroek has worked with Nike,Redbull,Panasonic,Volkswagen,ESPN and Mazda and many more. The piece above is called 'The Dopeshow' it was Oostenbroek's first portfolio release. It is a very strange,an escalator as a tongue ,you wouldn't see that every day.Every part of this portfolio has a different appearance. On the left it is designed with wild animals such as Elephants. The centre of the creation is formed as a city filled with a abstract pattern and the right is layed out as the it has been in the 17-1800s.

Inspiration

Justin Maller

Justin Maller is my first inspiration for his abstract and wicked digital designs.Maller is a Australian freelance illustrator and art director.Maller mostly inspired me through his advanced Photoshop work ,whereas producing  designs for many company's such as NIKE,UNIVERSAL SONY Pictures,Coca-Cola,ESPN,Under Armour and many more.

This is one of the few of Maller's abstract designs. However I described this creation as a The Abstract Cat or The Colorful Wolverine for its vicious look and diamond tone.

I chose this design considering its neon appearance and glossy appeal. This was Maller's creation for NIKE X KOBE Apparel. The main part used in the piece was the luminous lungs .Being sport related;we all need lungs to run.Maller wasn't stupid by just making some random abstract for NIKE apparel,Maller wisely related something to it.

Final poster

This is my final poster drawn on Adobe Illustrator.I Also added information to the components in the water cycle so I could give the reader more sight on what the Water Cycle does and how it works. The Information includes surface run-off,ground water and evaporation. This will be used with recycled goods in a 3-D glass or plastic transparent box with using materials such as cotton wool for the clouds and blue card for the sky making the face of the box more colorful and bright.

Development of Poster

Avenir Black, the font I will use for my final poster.I chose it because it is standard, basic and also is a default type of text whereas making easier to read .The title of  The Water Cycle will be included kerning, spacing the letters to 1 to 1.5cm.Making this happen. It will be seen more clearly and transparent as I am colouring it as turquoise, definition:light blue.An Explanation mark will be added making The Water Cycle text fun and juicy.

My final poster has to be very colorful to animate the readers attention. The arrows are mainly to show the readers on how the Water Cycle works and which way it travels.I traced the avenir black font so I could colour The Water Cycle text in blue to make it more effective and bright. Also blue is the colour of water making it have a point.

Primary Research

Primary Research

My primary research was to visit the Dunstable library and to go and have a look at children's books ,on how they attract children. The main reason was of the text, mainly being Helvetica or Times New Roman which is a simple text, when being default fonts they can be easier to read so the children can read it more clearly.

Colour is also another reason to draw young people into books. When larger white spaces are included in the book it produces more bleed on the page or the front cover of the book. This would have to be included in most books whereas the audience ,children, want to see a proportion of the picture instead of a heap of text. The author has to be very smart when he using the words for the age criteria, they have to be basic and direct. If the words are too complex then the reader such as children 3-6 will not have a clue what the author has written.
